HISTORY

Haven Church is a family of believers that has more then fifty years of experience impacting the greater Kalamazoo area. In 1955 twenty families from the community met in the Parchment Community House for weekly services. In 1956 they broke ground on Virginia Ave and called the church "Haven." They worshiped in the building on Virginia Ave for 34 years. The congregation out grew the building and its multiple add ons, so in 1988 they began construction on North Sprinkle Rd. The building that currently houses Haven was completed in 1990. Whether its  holding services on the high school football field in the 50's and 60's, having food distribution on the weekends, supporting the village of Katuba, Uganda, or working with Impact Kalamazoo, Haven is dedicated to the transformation of this world.

WHO WE ARE

Haven is a family that believes God has given us a mission; to develop people with a heart for God, heart for one another, and a heart for the lost. Our four ministry areas Invite, Connect, Disciple, and Mobilize make up what we call "The Plan." The Plan is the way that we accomplish our mission. Together we work to gracefully implement The Plan through everything we do here at Haven. By inviting we bring those outside the church in. In connecting we unite them with the Haven Family. Through discipleship we facilitate the transformation of God's people. Finally, in mobilizing we send them out to spread God's love into the world. Our mission and The Plan work together to inspire the heart beat of Haven Church.
