We unapologetically believe that, “God has ordained two sacraments for us to seal His promise in us, to pledge his grace towards us and to strengthen our faith. They are visible signs and seals of something internal by which God works in us through the Holy Spirit. (Belgic Confession Art. 3)
1. At Baptism we celebrate:
a. Union with Christ. (Romans 6:5)
b. Purification from Christ. (Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:11)
c. New Life in Christ. (Romans 6:4)
2. At the Lord’s Supper we celebrate:
a. Looking inward at repentance. (1 Corinthians 11:28,29)
b. Looking backward at forgiveness. (1 Corinthians 11:23-25)
c. Looking forward at presence. (1 Corinthians 11:26)
